Recurrent Pilonidal Sinus

Hi doctor, I am facing a lot of trouble from my pilonidal sinus. It started five years ago as an abscess at my lower back. I was operated immediately as the pain was intolerable but it came back just after 2 months. I have been told by my friend that kshar sutra is better option than surgery. I have been facing pain and discharge for 5 long years. Kindly guide.

Pilonidal Sinus is a very common problem now-a-day. Lots of hair, sedentary lifestyle, too much sitting/driving and lack of hygiene are the most common causes. Medicines are usually not effective and surgeries have a lot of recurrence rate. Kshar Sutra Therapy is an ayurvedic para surgical technique in which an alkaline medicated thread is used to cure the sinus tract. It needs multiple weekly sessions. Treatment duration depends on many factors including type and extent of sinus, age of patient, medical history of patient and also depends on how many times surgeries have been done. Usually all types of pilonidal sinuses are curable through Kshar Sutra Therapy with very high success rate. This is being one of the most beneficial technique with lowest recurrence rate and no complications.

In your case, consult a nearby Kshar Sutra Therapy doctor or you may also take online opinion regarding your problem by sharing your surgery papers and a few other details. Kshar Sutra Therapy may be the best option you have to get rid of your Pilonidal Sinus.

Wish you lots of health.

@ Mr. Jaswinder : Surgery usually involves high recurrence rates and Kshar Sutra Therapy is considered to be the best treatment for pilonidal sinus because of high success rates, very low recurrence and negligible chances of complications.

@ Mr. Firoz Ahmed : Conventional Surgeries usually involves big wounds that require long term dressings. Patient have to keep lying on their belly for many weeks because of the wounds. In Kshar Sutra Therapy wounds are smaller

My son had pilonidal sinus and after consulting many doctors we went for surgery. Surgeon told me that there are chances that it may come back but there is only 5% chance. So, we went ahead with the surgery. The swelling came again within 4 months and then we came to know that after surgery recurrence is mostly there. I took Kshar sutra therapy at a govt hospital in Bhopal and my son is fine now. I recommend kshar sutra therapy for pilonidal sinus.

I am a software engineer and had this problem in 2014. I went to many doctors regarding this. Everyone was consistent in one thing that surgery has a lot of recurrence rate. I came to know about a video technique named vaaft. They were claiming a painless solution for sinus. Irrespective of a lot of confusion I opted for this really expensive surgery. It was all waste. Only truth the surgeon told me that it was painless. I felt very less pain but my sinus was NOT healed even for a single day. I was on different antibiotics for almost 3 months straight. Even after repeated visits the surgeon was negligent about it and told me that it needs a bigger surgery (he meant even more expensive). It was my breaking point and I never go back to surgeon. Then I opted for kshar sutra therapy here in delhi. It took almost 15 weeks and I am ok till now. I don't know why my surgery was a failure despite of paying a 6 figure charges to a very big hospital. If I knew about this ayurvedic therapy I would not have wasted my money and my precious time in surgery. I recommend kshar sutra therapy for everyone who have pilonidal sinus. Good health to all.

My wife is suffering from this problem. We are afraid of surgery as surgeon is saying that it may come back anytime after surgery. Can we keep it as such? Can it convert into cancer?

Hi everyone, I had a pilonidal surgery in 2010 in mumbai. This was a horrible experience. Deep and long wound. Drs kept me on my stomach for many weeks. I couldn't go to my job. Later on I found that my doctors did an extensive procedure without informing me. I felt they were trying some new surgery as trial. Although I am fine till now but those 5-6 weeks were like hell for me. I would have never opted for surgery if I knew that there is some less painful treatment like this ayurvedic surgery. Luckily, I've had no recurrence but remembering those days, uuufffff. Gud luck to all.

I don't think that surgery is useful, always try for medicinal treatment first.
